YakaZoo, an organisation which raises money for various projects aimed at intellectually impaired people, will host a family fun day in Bordeaux.

The inaugural fundraising day will be to be held on 5 October at Old Parks sports grounds, where pupils from St Stithians College will do their bit to help.

There will be live music, Harley Davidson bikes, food, and a range of beers and wines for adults. Children will have the opportunity to engage in face painting, jumping castles, roundabout swings a mobile petrol train and competitions with prizes.

The purpose of the fun day is to raise funds for a variety of projects. One such project is to develop an equestrian centre, where people with disabilities, can work with horses and subscribe to a learning and development programme aligned to the horses and the environment.

Horses, and persons with intellectual disability have a unique remedial relationship said founder of YakaZoo, Neil Harrison.
