Boskop Primary pupils are passionate about their school work as well as their environment.

Alna Liebenberg, secretary at the school, says that early this year they introduced different ways of recycling.

“We have encouraged our pupils to bring their old plastic containers like yoghurt cups and other items. There was a recycling company that used to come and pick it up at our school and suddenly it stopped.”

They also have different bins where pupils are taught to dump their old papers, boxes and any paper waste items.

“The idea it to teach children. If each of us does a little about the environment this country could be a better place,” reckons Liebenberg.

She says one Mondi box can be equal to one tree that was cut to make it and parents should encourage their children to take care of their environment.
