Rhema helps the needy
ZANDSPRUIT – Rhema Bible Church North helps people in need in Zandspruit.
Rhema Bible Church North, Randpark Ridge, organises a soup kitchen in Zandspruit once per week.
Soup kitchen leader Amos Luruli and Rhema Hands of Compassion Gauteng region soup kitchen coordinator Reggie Moonsamy attend every time.
They each give short messages of faith, encouragement and sometimes warnings against falling victim to the ills of the day, such as HIV.
Then food, clothing and Pick ‘n Pay vouchers are given to residents.
When asked why they do this, the men responded with almost identical answers: “I help because we see a need and try help there,” Luruli said.
“I do this, people suffer and we are here to help,” Moonsamy said.
