Taxi overturns, six injured

ROBINDALE – Case opened for reckless and negligent driving as taxi driver flees scene.

A taxi overturned on the corner of Bram Fischer Drive and Boundary Road, Robindale, on 14 September leaving six people injured.

Metro police on scene explained that the driver fled the scene, and a case of reckless and negligent driving, and leaving the scene of an accident, will soon be opened with Linden police.

They said that according to a passenger’s account of the accident, the taxi was driving on Bram Fischer Drive in a southerly direction through the intersection while another car twas turning into the road from Boundary Road.

The taxi swerved to avoid the vehicle, but flipped.

Six people sustained minor injuries and were taken to Helen Joseph Hospital.

Questions were sent to Metro police Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar and Linden police spokesperson Carol Mulamu and comments are awaited.
