Cubs plant goodwill garden
RANDPARK RIDGE – Randpark Ridge Cubs plant garden for nursery school to be seen doing good.
Randpark Ridge Cubs planted love and friendship in the hearts of fellow children at Letlhabile Nursery School in Cosmo City, on 6 September.
They did this by planting a goodwill garden at the school.
“We did it to show that we are doing something for the community, and to be seen to do good,” said the cubs’ pack leader Ruth Taylor.
She explained that the group tries to plant a garden somewhere in Cosmo City once per year for community service.
“What they did was absolutely fabulous,” said Mandy van der Pol, mother of Tristan van der Pol, a cub who participated.
“Many of the cubs come from a privileged background and it is good for them to see the work they are doing in the community.”
She added that she allows Tristan to be a cub because he has fun while learning practical skills.
