Cellphone store robbed
NORTH RIDING - Robbers storm cellphone shop at Northgate Shopping Mall.
Honeydew Police are looking for suspects who robbed a Cell C store at Northgate Shopping Mall this morning.
According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs, at approximately 9.20am two men entered the store and pretended to be customers.
“The suspects asked the employees about different cellphone contracts and as staff members were trying to assist, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and instructed them to go to a room at the back of the store where cellphones were stored,” said Jacobs.
The suspects then took an unknown number of cellphones and an undisclosed amount of cash.
No shots or injuries were reported.
Jacobs said they also didn’t have the description of the vehicle that the suspects were using.
She asked members of the public to come forward to the police with information that could assist the police to track down the suspects.
