Duduzane Zuma –inquest hearing scheduled for 4 November

RANDBURG - Duduzane Zuma's inquest hearing postponed to November 4 in Randburg Magistrates' Court.

President Jacob Zuma’s son Duduzane Zuma has appeared before the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 22 August. He was involved in a serious accident between a minibus taxi and his silver Porsche sedan on 1 February in which 30 year old Jeanette Mashaba died.

Zuma’s representation has been passed onto Gary Mazaham, who apologised to the court for the previous subpoena’s lack of proper deliverance to Zuma. He said the subpoena had been handed to his nephew who was uncertain of the implications of a supoena and did not handle the situation properly.

Magistrate Lalilta Chetty said , “We have a duty to the deceased’s family [to ensure correct proceedings].”

State prosecutor Yusaf Baba said, “It appears on the death certificate that the cause of death is ‘natural’.”

The date for the inquest hearing is set down for 4 to 14 November 2014.

Notice of expert witness evidence is expected to be presented to all legal teams by no later than 30 September.
