Porsche road rage case postponed again

FERNDALE – Man charged with common assault and malicious damage to property must wait another three weeks.

The case involving a man who is charged with common assault and malicious damage to property for his actions during a road rage incident on Witkoppen Road, Fourways, last month has been postponed again.

The Randburg Magistrates’ Court in Ferndale heard on 21 August that prosecutors needed three more weeks to conclude their investigations, and the case will be heard again on 11 September.

The man faces charges involving an incident which was filmed by an onlooker, a video that went viral (see previous story). In the video the man, who was the passenger of a Porsche, is seen kicking a Volkswagen’s side mirror until the driver winds down the window.

He then reaches both hands into the Volkswagen and struggles with the driver for a while. He pulls an object out of the Volkswagen and throws it away. The driver of the Volkswagen later spoke to the media, saying he was punched in the face and his vehicle keys were thrown away.
