The 10 finalists for the 2014 Bachelor and Bachelorette competition were announced during a function at the Ruimsig Country Club.
The 10 semi-finalists are Bertus van der Merwe, Rodney Prins, Sonél Luyt, Nirelda Andeka, Rozanne Meyer, Gerda-Marie Conradie, Lucy Greyvenstein, Johan Anker, Guy Saben and Jaco Venter.
The 10 candidates were chosen by a panel of judges after intensive judging in Krugersdorp, Cape Town, KZN Midlands and Johannesburg.
Several events and media launches will follow during the next few months and the 10 finalists will have to do their own fundraisers and media drives before the winners are announced at a red carpet formal event on 8 November, which will be held at Silverstar Casino.
The bachelor and bachelorette’s chosen charity for the past three years was Cansa, being a charity that has been around for more than 80 years and not only does active research about Cancer, but also informs and educates. More specifically the finalists will be raising funds and awareness for childhood cancer, and Cansa’s TLC house, which looks after children and their families battling the disease.
More than R500 000 has been raised during the three years with this competition.
