Councillor inspires residents

RANDBURG – David Potter of Ward 102 one of 200 inspiring youths in the country.

 

RANDBURG – Ward 102 councillor David Potter was listed as one of Mail & Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans for 2014, on 25 July.

The list comprises people under the age of 35, who are inspiring because of what they do.

“I’m pretty chuffed,” the 28-year-old said.

“It’s all part of my interest in helping civil society, my ward especially, but society in general.”

He continued that it is very important that services are delivered to residents, even to those who cannot afford to pay rates and taxes, and his role in society is to ensure the delivery of these services.

“It is an interest of mine to make the City function well. I often write letters to the mayor and champion projects.”

Ward 102 includes Blairgowrie, Bordeaux, Ferndale extensions 3 and 5, Fontainebleau Ext 1, Moret, President Ridge, Randburg CBD, Ruiterhof, Lyme Park, Willowild extensions 1 and 2 and Solridge.
