Bordeaux North on the rise

BORDEAUX NORTH - Resident's association promises a greener and safer suburb.

The Bordeaux North Resident’s Association is set to make residents aware of its services.

Shanaaz Bailey, chairperson of the Bordeaux North Resident’s Association said the purpose of the association is to be the voice of the residents, and help the residents with issues regarding the environment, legal matters of landlords, re-zoning and other ongoing problems that affect them.

“We also work very closely with Ward 102 councillor David Potter, the City of Joburg Council and Town Planning in matters such as city power, street lights and housing,” said Bailey.

Bailey stated that the association is doing its best to solve the problem they have with the illegal taxi rank on their side of the suburb.

“People who come and view houses in the suburb see the illegal taxi rank as a hazard for crime and pollution and thus change their minds about buying a house in Bordeaux North.”

In an effort to keep the suburb clean and well maintained, the association has hired someone to clean the streets on the daily and preserve the garden.

According to Bailey, this will help attract more residents and make residents feel good and be proud of living in Bordeaux North.

The association works extremely close with the Randburg police and the local security company in the area to fight the crime and keep the residents protected and in the loop about suspicious people and vehicles.
