Trinityhouse Preparatory Randpark Ridge took part in the 2014 National Tekkie Tax Day on 30 May.
Pupils and staff were allowed to wear tekkies for the day if a sticker was purchased for R10.
A total of R9 275 was raised for Thandanani House of Refuge, which is a home for orphaned and vulnerable children in Zandspruit.
The pupils enjoyed participating in this charity venture and showed great creativity in their choice of footwear.
Funky shoelaces, neon tekkies with flashing lights and glittery, sparkly tekkies were the fashion of the day.
Many pupils purchased up to four stickers each in their desire to give back to the community.
