School holidays are the highlight of children’s years and the bane of parents’ as they try to occupy their little ones.

Days of the Dinosaur: The Exhibition – Exhibition goers can look forward to seeing a total of 45 animatronic dinosaurs, some grazing in the field, others feasting on their counterparts, as well as a 3D movie, a fossil dig, photo opportunities and plenty of souvenirs.
Da Vinci: The Genius – In this exhibition, Da Vinci – The Genius, Pascal Cotte presents 25 new secrets about Mona Lisa. The exhibition takes place at The Amazing Place in Woodmead until 27July.
Rosebank Union Church’s Holiday Club – This year includes fun-packed games, crafts and other activities centred on the truths of the bible. The theme is Adventures in the King’s Forest. The club runs from 30 June to 4 July. Find out more here
Bearemy’s Big Top Circus Party – You are invited to Build A Bear’s circus-themed party. The party takes place on 4 July and 6 July. Details: 011 883 0911.
Visit Lilliesleaf in Rivonia – The Liliesleaf farm was key to the political and military policies and strategies of the ANC during apartheid. This is one experience not to be missed as it is an interactive exhibition and tribute to the prominent political leaders who assembled on this land and stood up to apartheid. Montecasino Bird Gardens – 10 minutes from Sandton and worth the drive! You can wander along enchanted walkways within magnificent gardens and marvel at a variety of colourful birds, mammals, reptiles and unusual animals from around the world. Find out more here
Visit Mushroom Farm Park – A beautiful and secure public park, where more than 80 species of bird flock around the Mushroom Farm dam. You can also get the most spectacular view of Sandton from the Hyundai balloon. Details: 011 784 6881.
