Local dance crew dances their hearts out

BRYANSTON- Local dance crew was one of the eight crews to take part in the Redbull Beat Battles 2014.

Supreme I dance crew from Bryanston took part in this year’s fourth annual Redbull Beat Battles dance competition at Kliptown, Soweto on 31 May.

The crew, which joined local dance studio DanceWeb in 2013, stated that it was proud to not only be representing their studio, but also their home town Soweto. “Often a crew from the township struggles to find a place to rehearse. DanceWeb was kind enough to offer a studio for us to practice in. We are grateful to have their support in everything we do,” said crew captain, Mpho Ramagase.

Dance Coach Craig Bullock said,” My wife and I took this crew under the DanceWeb umbrella to coach them and to make them one of the best crews. It is an honour for me to have them as part of our studio.

Redbull Beat Battles judge and DanceWeb choreography Tumi Tladi said he felt privileged to be part of the Redbull family and stated that he loved how the brand makes people in his working field feel like real artists. “Those who take part in such competitions should not think they have made it and relax. Local crews must continue to market themselves and think business so that they can make money through their talents,” added Tladi.
