Rand Park High School opens to younger pupils

RANDPARK RIDGE - Local schools in Randburg get to see the Rand Park High School production before everyone else does.

Rand Park Primary School, Weltevreden Park Primary School and Constantia Kloof Primary School, were invited by Rand Park High School in Randpark Ridge for a viewing of their annual school musical production.

More than 450 Grade 6 pupils from the local primary schools were invited by the high school to showcase their forthcoming musical production Back to the 80s, which will officially be showcased to the public on 15 May.

The musical production is set in the ’80s and is based on the graduating class of William Ocean High School as they live through their final senior year and experience the fun, and hard times of growing up.

“The production is part of our cultural programme. Pupils from Grade 8 to matric, auditioned in order to take part in this play. The production also has band members with pupils from the school on various instruments which will bring the production to life,” explained Rand Park High School communications manager, Heather Robinson.

Robinson stated that the musical production team started working on the musical in 2013 to ensure the production was perfect for viewing.

The primary school pupils got to enjoy some snacks in-between the production and enjoyed seeing the amazing talent that was on stage.

“For more details about the production, people can contact the school,” said Robinson.
