Rabie Republic Arend Resident’s Association general meeting

RANDPARK RIDGE - The Rabie Republic Arend (RRA) Resident’s Association address crime at the monthly meeting held at the Randpark Golf Club on 12 May.

The Rabie Republic Arend (RRA) Resident’s Association which covers Rabie Road, Republic Road, Arend Road, Windsor Glen and surrounding areas held their general meeting on 12 May.

The meeting was held at the Randpark Golf Club and the club’s Chief Executive Officer Doug Bain gave residents a brief overview of the golf course redesign which will take place soon.

He mentioned how the redesign will have a positive impact on the community as it would prevent most of the crime in the area and reduce the drastic river flood incidents which occur in the rainy season.

Present at the meeting was Tim Pearman, operations executive of Securitas Security Company. Pearman gave a quick update of the activities he and his team have been involved in.

“We have been working really hard to fight crime [in the area]and worked on a joint operation with the Linden police to combat crime,” said Pearman.

Pearman further stated how having tight security is a team effort and thus, the community needs to communicate and work with the police and their security companies by making sure their alarms are on, and reporting suspicious people and vehicles.

At the meeting, the resident’s association’s chairman, Trevor Taylor reviewed the proposed monthly increase of the association’s fees for the year, which residents approved.

Taylor urged residents to get the RRA stickers for their cars for security to easily identify who the residents of the area are. He also reminded residents about the community braai which will take place on 7 June at the nearby park.

“It will be a fun day for all residents and a great way to network and get together. Residents who wish to donate goodies and local businesses who wish to advertise their business on the day, are welcome,” concluded Taylor.
