A Barcelona experience in Randburg

RANDBURG - Renowned Spanish football coaches train junior team.

The Randburg Football Club welcomed the Barcelona Celebreight Football Club to host a world class football coaching programme for the junior teams from 31 March to 4 April.

The world-renowned Spanish football coaches were available for the first time in South Africa and they shared their insights and training skills with South African young footballers.

This world class sporting event is result of the discussion started by the Randburg Football Club chairman, Gordon Naidoo, who proposed the idea to the Celebreight Football Club, to train his team. “Four players were sent to Barcelona where they participated in a 10 day high-level training programme. They also played a match between two local teams in Barcelona which was recorded and they were provided with a full analysis of their level at the end of the program,” explained the Randburg Football Club chairman Gordon Naidoo.

The chairman added that feedback and knowledge both on and off the field was an incredible experience and therefore the club decided to bring the Spanish coaches to South Africa. “The Randburg club decided to make the training available to more local junior players. Introducing the Spanish coaches who are passionate, highly qualified and experts of the famous Spanish football to the players,” added Naidoo.

According to the spokesman of the Barcelona Celebreight Football Club, Michael Allen, “previous programs which were done in various countries including Beijing, China, and Manila in the Philippines boasted many success stories for young players who have participated in the program.”

Co-founder of the Barcelona Celebreight Football Club, Danny Lederman said that they are doing this to help clubs to be well developed and successful. “We wanted to share our knowledge and educate the players about football. Coaches also benefited from this because we had a workshop with them about improving their skills. This is to make the sport easier and a lot more understanding,” concluded Lederman.
