JOBURG - Montecasino celebrated St. Patrick's weekend with style.
A St. Patrick’s celebration weekend like no other took place at Montecasino’s Irish Festival from 14 to 17 March.
This was to celebrate the life of St. Patrick a patron saint and national apostle of Ireland. St Patrick is credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland.
The festival was the very best in street entertainment, bringing Irish bands, dancers, leprechauns, pots ‘o gold and kiddies’ entertainment this side of the rainbow. The four-day celebration was filled with fun for the whole family.
The festival was radical on 15 March with the Ultimate Irish Variety Concert on the Montecasino Piazza complete with a comedy act featuring Mpho Pops, Irish tap dancers, South African Tapsula dancers, B-boy dancers, classic and contemporary Irish performances, Ballyhoo, giveaways and more.
Those who attended, stood out in their St. Patrick’s day Irish ourfit wearing white with a touch of green.
It was a celebration to be remembered.
