Two boys from Boskruin did their suburb proud in January when they participated in golf tournaments in different parts of the country.
Reece Haikney was selected to play in the South African Boys U15 Tournament at Fish River Sun. The top 90 U15 boys in the country were invited to participate in the 54- hole tournament. Haikney finished sixth.
Ryan Dantu was selected to play in the National Order of Merit U19 Tournament at Royal Durban. The country’s top 90 U19 boys competed in the 54-hole tournament. Dantu finished a credible tied 45th. The windy conditions seemed to affect all the inland boys as the coastal boys dominated the tournament won by Ernie Els’ nephew, Jason Rebula, of Kingswood Golf Club in George.
