Stationery donated to school

R3000's worth of stationary now belongs to Robin Hills Primary School.

The Linden police and Dis-Chem Cresta donated stationery worth R3 000 to Robin Hills Primary School.

Linden Police Station spokesperson Constable Ndivhuwo Mulamu said, “The stationery will be available to any pupil who does not have stationery, and they can then ask for what they need.”

Dis-Chem Cresta collected money for this initiative while they were wrapping gifts for their customers.. “Customers did not have to pay for the wrapping but they could donate any amount and put the money in the box at the gift wrapping table, and that money went into the stationery donation,” Ayanda Mosome of Dis-Chem said.

Captain Alex Vermaak of the Linden police spoke to the pupils before the handover. “It makes me very happy to be at this school today because I see young children who will one day be wonderful citizens,” he said. “You need a proper education. It is a right.”

Vermaak said the pupils had a responsibility to be good. “Especially now that the school received stationery. Do not steal from your fellow pupils. It is not necessary. You can go to the office and say you need something.”
