Top matric achievers awarded at function.

The ADvTECH Group representing Crawford Schools, Abbotts College and Trinityhouse Private School in Randpark Ridge hosted its sixth annual Top Achievers Awards ceremony at the Michelangelo Hotel in Sandton.

The ADvTECH Group is a Johannesburg Stock Exchange Limited company that leads the private sector in the fields of education and resourcing.

This prestigious ceremony was held to celebrate and recognise the dedicated efforts and hard work of ADvTECH Schools Division’s top matric pupils of last year. The award winners from their respective schools received prizes from sponsors, and a crystal trophy and a certificate.

Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Enver Surty congratulated the matriculants for their excellent achievements. “We acknowledge the pupils perseverance, resilience and dedication to succeed,” said Surty. “Congratulations on your remarkable achievements for 2013.”

Dedicated teaching staff and the determination of pupils resulted in excellent results for the ADvTECH Schools Division. The 1 344 candidates affiliated to the schools division that wrote the 2013 matric examinations collectively achieved 2 895 distinctions with an average of two to 15 distinctions per candidate.

Trinityhouse’s top achiever was Simone van Staden who obtained eight distinctions.

“We are proud of our hardworking staff and pupils that rise to the challenge and give their best,” said Alex Isaakidis of ADvTECH Schools Division.

“We congratulate the pupils of ADvTECH and look forward following their growth and contributions to society. “
