A lesson on generosity

The Linden Domestic Watch kicked off the year very generously.

The monthly Linden Domestic Watch programme took place at the Fontainebleau Community Church.

This was the first meeting of year where founder of the programme Penny Steyn discussed the theme ‘generosity’ with domestic workers. She highlighted how important it was to have a good working relationship with their employees.

The domestic workers shared some of their experiences of generosity, and had some time to reflect on last year’s successes and discussed the plans they had for this year.

In future Steyn hoped that more domestic workers, as well as gardeners would join the programme. ”People in the community who are interested in helping are welcome to. We would appreciate the extra assistance, and sponsorship,” said Steyn.

”With generosity of spirit we all can make a difference to our country, our family and our employers and stop the horrors or at least curb some of them by doing the right thing. Being generous is not just about digging into our pockets, I believe there is undoubtedly more in it for the giver than those on the receiving end, I know this from experience.”
