There are not many postboxes available in Randburg, despite the South African Post Office putting out a notice last week encouraging people to renew or rent them.
North Riding Post Office has 10 boxes available out of a total of 2 800. This office normally runs out of boxes by February.
The Ferndale Post Office has about 40 boxes available out of 1 700 boxes and the Fontainebleau Post Office has between 20 and 30 boxes available out of 1 600 boxes.
According to the Randburg Post Office it has a few hundred boxes available out of 5 000.
The Randpark Ridge and Bromhof post offices failed to answer their phones on numerous occasions, but the South African Post Office spokesperson, Malusi Fuphe confirmed the limited number of boxes in Randburg.
“The public are very interested in the post boxes. Most of the time they are running out.,’ he said.
