Traffic education for children

Ward councillors Mike Wood and David Potter urge Randburg residents to bring their children to the Junior Traffic Centre.

The Randburg Junior Traffic Centre has invited residents of Randburg and surrounding areas to make use of the centre.

”The City of Johannesburg and the Joburg Roads Agency revamped the centre approximately five years ago. We urge children to come to the centre and make use of its facilities,” explained Ward 102 councillor David Potter.

Ward 104 councillor Mike Wood said that the centre is an ideal place for children’s parties and events. “Children can have fun learning about the rules of the road while they enjoy a great picnic with friends and family,” added Wood.

According to the centre officer, Tshidiso Monareng, the facility was built for educational purposes. “Through educating children about the rules of the road, we prevent them from getting into accidents when they are walking alone in the streets,” said Monareng.

The centre is open to all members of the public during office hours and use of the facility is free. Schools and families are welcome to book and bring a minimum of 10 children for parties or outings.
