Linden choir invites new members
Do you have a voice like an angel? Make your way to the Gereformeerde Kerk in Linden on Mondays and Tuesdays at 7pm and join their chior.
The Johannesburg Easter Choir based in Linden has invited new members to join.
The choir was established in 2009 with composer and conductor Louis Fourie as the leader. In 2009 the choir performed the Lukaspassie (Lucas passion), which is about the announcement of the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem until his crucifixion. In 2010 the choir performed Jerusalem based on Revelations 21 in the Bible. These productions were performed at various congregations in Johannesburg. A CD recording of Jerusalem was also produced.
In 2011, Fourie composed Gloria that was performed in Latin. Fourie has composed another piece called Die Matteus Passie (Matthew Passion) which will be performed this year.
Anyone interested in joining the choir can visit the Gereformeerde Kerk in 7th Street, Linden where the choir practises twice a week. Practice times are Mondays (for men) and Tuesdays (for women) at 7pm until 9pm at the church. From 18 February the men and women will practise together.
