You will be missed

Caxton Joburg North West bids a final farewell to a beloved colleague and friend.

Caxton Joburg North West employee Celia Marawu passed away in an accident on the N14 Highway in the early hours of 27 November.

Message from Branch Manager Chris Halstead:

I first met Celia when I started with Caxton at the JHB Northern office in April 2006.
I was immediately struck by her friendliness and willingness to help others.
Celia and I became pretty good buddies over the years.

I often used to sneak up behind her whilst she was busy with the newspaper dummy to give her a fright!

She would jump out of Her chair in alarm and shout at me, quickly followed by a smile and a laugh!

Celia appreciated a good joke, she certainly had a good sense of humour.
Our paths crossed again when we opened the new Joburg North West office at the beginning of 2013.

Since then we have seen or spoken to each other every working day.
It feels surreal as it starts to sink in that I will no longer see her friendly face, smile and laugh every day that I start work.

Celia, we salute you as a rare human being who touched many lives and was always prepared to help others.

Your presence will be sorely missed here and the office will never feel the same without you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this painful time, especially her children who have lost a wonderful Mother.

Celia, may you rest in peace.

The following is a poem that was in Celia’s top drawer and appears apt in the circumstances.
