A Strijdom Park takeaway business owner offered an electrician free food to close off dangerous wiring on a lamp post.
Business owner Aji Neophytou explained that the electrical wires were sticking out of the lamp post in front of his shop. “I phoned the municipality, but I didn’t have any luck. Although this is not my
property I felt it was important to get it repaired before someone gets hurt,” he said.
An electrician, who wanted to remain anonymous, gladly accepted the meal in exchange for his expertise and the problem has been fixed. City Power will, however, investigate the matter.
