End of October a high-crime time

Windsor experienced a spate of crimes at the end of October, with common robbery being the commonest.

In the last week of October several crimes occurred in Windsor. Windsor Action Group (WAG) chairperson Louis Mynhardt has put together the latest crime report for Sector 4, and said she will publish crime notices weekly. As reported by Warrant Officer Diphoko from the Linden Police Station, the following crimes took place in the following streets in the area:

Residential burglary:

  • 24 October 2013 in Bernhard Road, Cresta
  • 27 October 2013 in Diana Court, Queens Avenue, Windsor West

Common robbery:

  • 25 October 2013 in Breatrice and Dukes streets, Windsor West
  • 27 October 2013 in Arthur Avenue, Windsor West
  • 25 October 2013 in Republic Road, Cresta
  • 26 October 2013 in Beyers Naudé Drive, Cresta

Theft of a motor vehicle:

  • 26 October 2013 at Cresta Shopping Centre
  • 26 October 2013 in Willow Crest Queens Ave. Windsor West

Theft out of a motor vehicle:

  • 21 October 2013 (two incidents) in Viscount, Windsor West
  • 28 October 2013 Beatrice and Countesses avenues, Windsor East
  • 22 October 2013 at the open parking lot at Cresta

There was also one arrest for the possession of drugs in Windsor East.

Mynhardt urged residents to report crime when they see it. She said to phone the sector vehicle and afterwards call 10111 to get a reference number.
