A much improved Civic Centre

The Randburg Civic Centre is the help centre for all Randburg residents.

The Revenue Centre within the Civic Centre gives speedy service on city power bills, account quiries and clearance certificates and other related matters.

Ward 102 councillor David Potter is proud to share the great work done at the centre. “The centre offers a library for the community of which is open to the public Monday to Thursday 9am to 6pm and on Fridays and Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. There is a Techno centre as well where residents are encouraged to use the computer facilities,” said Potter.

According to Potter Randburg Clinic can be of great assistance to anyone who is in need of any form of health care. “The health department is currently renovating another building at the centre where the clinic will move to. The new building is much larger and should assist in better services to the users of the clinic. It is uncertain when exactly the new clinic will be open, but in the meantime the old one will continue to be of service,” said Potter.

The centre has not always provided the best service for the community, however Potter said, “Services provided by the Revenue department is much improved. In comparing service delivery from November 2012 to now, there has been a near 100 percent improvement on query resolution.”

Potter did not fail to mention there were some matters that needed to be addressed at the centre such as the poor cleanliness of the property and the lack of parking.

“Despite this, I continue to encourage residents to use the services provided by the different departments and to report any concerns to the management and or their councillor by visiting the walk in centre. this allows residents to discuss their queries with the relevant officials who have access to the system and who are able to resolve queries.”
