Randburg police reservists are on target
The Randburg police reservist shooting team took second place at the annual Mark Ishlove Gauteng inter-station combat shooting competition.
“The trophy was presented to the team by General Reddy at the Golden City Shooting range,” said reserve Sergeant Kenneth Atkinson.
“First place was awarded to Fairlands SAPS. The competition was renamed after the tragic death of reserve Colonel Mark Ishlove after a shoot-out wherein he was killed in 2011.”
Ishlove ran the competition for many years, and was instrumental in training most of the reservists in Gauteng as a shooting instructor.
The Randburg team was made up of reserve Constable Mathew Da Silva, reserve Sergeant Warren Neal, reserve Sergeant Kenneth Atkinson and reserve Sergeant McIntyre.
