Potholes thing of the past

Johannesburg Roads Agency steps in and makes a difference

Rocky Street in Ferndale has been plagued with potholes for the past two years.

Motorists are accustomed to dodging the holes on a daily basis. Ward 104 councillor Mike Wood said, “This road has been a major concern for residents in Ferndale. I was surprised when I saw a Johannesburg Roads Agency team fixing the potholes on 28 June.”

Resident Brian Herbert said, “The road is now a delight to drive on and I want to thank the team who went out of their way to fix the holes.” Roads agency spokesperson Mosa Makhalima added, “The reason why the team took a bit long to start the work on the road is because the Roads Agency has hundreds of roads to fix and it takes about two to three days for a team to fix potholes.”
