GALLERY: Plants become personality types

RANDPARK – Rocci welcomes Karen Clarke to assist business women with their own and their employees' personality types.

Rocci Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a mind-blowing, eye-opening, hilarious walk in the garden, with keynote speaker, Karen Clarke at the Randpark Golf Club on 12 February.

Matt Stern, singer and actor, was MC of the event and welcomed the ladies of Rocci, who own and manage their own businesses. After Stern had performed an opera aria that had guests on their feet, he welcomed JAM SA, the charity that benefited from this event. JAM is a charity organisation that helps feed the hungry. Guests received a full breakfast, but as an entry fee they had to bring toiletries, tea and hot chocolate or any sweets in aid of the women who run the Early Childhood Development Centre at JAM.

Keynote speaker Karen Clarke is known for doing full profile assessments on people by simply observing the way they walk, sit, talk and interact with others. With her walk in the garden programme she helps businesses classify their employee’s personality according to four plants. The tables at the breakfast was decorated with the four plants, a cactus, fern, impatiens and sunflowers.

Guests laughed while Clarke explained each personality type and how it relates to the specific plant. According to her, the sunflower personality is a lively type of person who is outgoing and loves to be social. They are creative and think out of the box. The fern is mainly persons with a high IQ, they are slow, but its because they tend to calculate everything.

A cactus personality type, hates to be late for anything. They are driven and hard on themselves and others to get results. The impatiens personality is a over-sensitive type of person. They are kind, caring and tends to be a doormat. Clarke asked guest to identify their own personality and they received a specific colour dot accordingly. Clarke then gave a full profile prize to the youngest and the oldest guests at the event.

The event made for lots of fun and made women business owners think twice about their own personality type and how they fit into their business .
