“The purpose of today is to celebrate Software AG’s donation to the school, by educating the school you are also empowering the community of Cosmo City too. There are a number of factors we need to consider in terms of the security, insurance and safety of the computers. We hope the community also gets the message that there are people out there who care and make a difference,” said Mpete.

The schools choir entertained guests with their celebratory singing and dancing. Software AG SA vice president and country manager Mohamed Cassoojee said during his address that as a technology company, one of the issues they are involved in, is increasing opportunities and infrastructure in communities.

“Technology affects a lot of aspects in our lives. There is is nothing in life we can do without technology, it puts us at an equal footing with the world. It is important for us to partner with specifically selected schools. We selected you because you know what to do with the resources we give you, how to protect it and the capability to use it,” explained Cassoojee.

Sgodiphola Secondary School grade 10 pupil Junior Mphuti said it means a lot for Software AG to donate computers to their school. He thanks them on behalf of the school and community and knows it will make a difference in their education.
