Deon Meyer Book launch

On 1 October, the well-known author Deon Meyer will launch his new book, Icarus at the Bamboo Lifestyle Centre in Melville. Meyer is known for books such as Cobra, 7 Days and Tracker. The entry is free of charge and the launch will begin at 6pm.

Russel Brand Stand-up comedy

The hilarious British comedian and actor Russel Brand will host two shows at the Teatro Montecasino on 1 and 2 October. The shows will form part of his Trew World Order tour. Brand is known for his quirky humour worldwide. Tickets will range from R 350 to R 650 depending on seats. Tickets can be bought at Computicket.

Femme Focus Fund Raiser

A ladies’ lunch will be served at the Randburg Bowls Club on 3 October. For R 185 per person you will be welcomed with refreshments and receive a goodie bag worth R 150.

A starter, main course, dessert and coffee will be served.

Vodacom In The City

Get ready for one of SA’s biggest one-day music festivals on 4 October at Emmarentia Dam. The show presented by SABC 3 and 5FM will include artists such as The Kooks, Milky Chance, PH Phat and The Cat Empire. The gates will open at 10 am and close at 6 pm. No liquids or bottles will be allowed into the venue but picnic baskets will. Tickets can be bought on their website.

Blame it on Bollywood

SA’s first Indian dancing musical theatre production can be seen from 6 – 11 October at the Teatro in Montecasino. The production is filled with Bollywood singing and dancing as well as an energy that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Tickets will range from R150 to R 450 depending on seats and are available at Computicket.

Beer Fest

SA’s biggest beer festival will be hosted in a 4000 seater Bavarian Brauhaus at the Montecasino Boulevard from 9 –11 October. The festival sponsored by South African Breweries, will have three beers on offer, The Munich Dunkel, the Krystal Weiss and the Royal Bavaria – each with its unique texture and flavour. Challenges such as beer pong and best dressed will be held while a band will keep you entertained. German dishes such as bratwurst, bockwurst and rotkohl (red cabbage) will be available among other foreign delights. Tickets range from R140 and R507.
