• DJ Sabby Appeals To His Fans

YFM Radio DJ, television personality, entrepreneur, Get Paid Clothing co-founder and music producer, DJ Sabby has been invited by The Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital to invite all of his fans to come out on 22 August 2015 to the Zone in Rosebank to take a selfie for a good cause. The cause will focus on giving fans the opportunity to take a selfie with their favourite celebrities. Each photograph will cost the fan R20 and the money will go toward raising funds to complete and furnish the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital that is currently under construction. The celebrities that will be available to take selfies with fans will be the likes of: DJ Zinhle , Proverb, Boity, Ms Cosmo, Kabomo, Bantu Soul, Tumi and many more.

• Free beauty treatment for pensioners

In the spirit of women’s month, Thully Ndlazi, owner of 2licous Beyond Beauty boutique, is grabbing the opportunity to spoil pensioners on 22 August. The boutique, which is based in Windsor Glen, will be offering pensioners the best treat. Pensioners from around the area, can start making their way to the beauty salon which is on 250 Republic Road, Shop No 5, from 9am until late in the afternoon. Pensioners can expect free drinks, a free shoulder massage, pedicure and manicure.

Celeste Ntuli at Gold Reef City 

Make your way to a comedy feast to remember on 28 August at the Lyric Theatre in Gold Reef City as Celeste Ntuli brings down the roof. Celeste Ntuli is a South African Film and Television Award and Royalty Soapie Award nominee. Ntuli will be performing her popular stand-up show, Home Affairs 2.

•Thank You for the Music – A tribute to Abba, Bee Gees and Queen

Abba, Queen and The Bee Gees are three of the most influential pop and rock groups of all time. Make your way to the Barnyard Theatre production at Emperors Palace to witness their performances. The event started on 21 July and will end on 30 August 2015. Entrance fee: R100. You can also buy one and get one free on certain shows on 18 and 25 August.

• The Caucasian Chalk Circle: Stage play

Brecht’s classic play entitled The Caucasian Chalk Circle featuring 10 performers will be presented by The Performing Arts Fund (PAF) from 27 August 2015 to 6 September at the Joburg Theatre’s space.com. Entrance fee is R70.

• Rowan Stuart’s Johannesburg and Pretoria Tour

Durban singer-songwriter-guitarist Rowan Stuart will be heading to Gauteng in August and September for a solo acoustic return tour for performances in Johannesburg and Pretoria.

Catch this dynamic performer at Mark’s Park Sports Club, Judith Road, Emmarentia on 26 August at 8pm as he will be using his notable prowess on the guitar as the foundation for his creativity. Ticket cost R50 and R25 for students.

• Women of Substance

Make your way to Silverstar Casino on 29 August for the Women of Substance presentation. Director Charlotte du Plessis will be empowering women and through her actions, women will have the opportunity and resources to embark on their personal journey of discovery.

•Women’s Day celebration

Make your way to the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden on 23 August to witness Freshly Ground performing. The event is in celebration of Women’s Month.
