GALLERY and VIDEO: A sensory overload

NORTHGATE — The Grand Design Show is back for every home improvement and design lover.

The Ticketpro Dome was transformed and seemingly expanded with lush designs as The Grand Designs Home and Garden Show marked its first day.

Now in its fifth year under the theme, Upcycle the Eco-Friendly was an edgy and upscale of the event and greeted everyone with chalk illustrations by local designs.

“We have built a grand tree house that you will be able to see from wherever you are. In light of the load shedding we continuously experience, we have a stall that will introduce you to going off the grid,” said Sandra Barrow.

The show started off in the 3D tunnel Whirlpool before you found yourself wondering off to the nearest stall. There were also food trucks and even a gourmet vetkoek stall, right next to a milkshake bar – certain to make any diet plan a thing of the past.

The Grand Design Show offers art, design and DIY lovers a three-day experience of the best and innovative products in the market.
