Community Heroes Association transforms Hawken Avenue

Hawken Avenue in Bromhof received a facelift thanks to dedicated residents who, alongside the Community Heroes Association, removed litter, trimmed overgrown vegetation, removed dumped rubble from the site, and supported local security efforts.

Residents of Bromhof gathered on Hawken Avenue for a community clean-up, spearheaded by the Community Heroes Association. Volunteers focused on improving the area known as the Bromhof Park Strip by picking up litter, trimming overgrown vegetation, and removing dumped rubble. The atmosphere was lively, with volunteers sharing a strong sense of pride and commitment to their neighbourhood.

Resident Nikki Belt said, “This morning we all arrived onsite in high spirits because today marked the end of a three-day project, We are very passionate about making our environment safe and beautiful for the community to enjoy.
“We have restored yet another beautiful park in the neighbourhood. We have many plans for the parks including kiddies play areas, benches, fishing, walking, security, and much more.”

The Community Heroes Association is dedicated to creating safer and cleaner spaces for everyone, while also supporting local security efforts. By maintaining the area and removing debris, the group helps to reduce risks and foster a more secure environment.

The association maintains an active presence on Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Threads, sharing updates about their work and upcoming events. The volunteers were encouraged to follow the organisation on social media to stay updated on future initiatives.
