North Riding inspiration gets recognition she deserves

Moeng said looking back, she now realises that hard times are blessings in disguise and learning to embrace challenges has been a cornerstone of her journey.

From a timid child to being nominated for the Fabulous Woman Awards, North Riding based resident Gadifele Moeng’s story is a testament to the power of personal growth and resilience.

This recognition is not just a personal milestone but a significant achievement for her programme, The Future Leaders. Through the programme, she teaches public speaking, communication, and leadership skills, all of which significantly enhance self-confidence. She empowers young individuals to give and receive constructive feedback, think critically, and develop essential leadership and communication abilities.

As a child, Moeng was incredibly timid. She said that she longed for someone to believe in her, to mentor her, or to give her a gentle push. Unfortunately, she didn’t have any of those.

Moeng explained, that when she reached adulthood, she found herself without clear goals, with nothing to look forward to except raising her children.

“My life felt monotonous; devoid of excitement or challenge. 2016, everything changed, when I decided to embark on a personal development journey. Reflecting on that decision now, my future self is eternally grateful.

“During this journey, I discovered that public speaking is one of the greatest fears people have, often ranking alongside the fear of death. Inspired by this, I decided to teach public speaking to children aged 10 to 17.”

Of the award nomination, she stated that this recognition means so much to her because it shows she is doing something right.

“My program helps me be the change I want to see in the world. I love leaders with integrity, confidence, and discipline, so I nurture these qualities in young people from an early age. I wasn’t expecting this award and didn’t even know about it. When the news broke, I simply said, ‘God, you see my efforts and my contribution to the world’.”

She added that she wants to inspire future leaders and wants them to see that hard work, dedication, and passion pays off.

“Winning this award will help me reach more future leaders and unlock their potential. I pray that more young people will see their peers develop and be inspired to do the same.”
