Sandton Chefs Circle donates toys and clothes to St. Laurence Children’s Haven

The Sandton Chefs Circle was conceptualised to bring chefs together for a common cause and companionship and to share industry stresses, contacts and friendship

HTA School of Culinary Art recently hosted the year-end Sandton Chefs Circle (SCC) lunch on December 5.

The SCC has been going for over 10 years with the most recent lunch being the 53rd. The Sandton Chefs Circle is a group of chefs connecting for a cause.

During 2023 SCC has been collecting toys, books, and items of clothing for their nominated charity, St. Laurence Children’s Haven. The toys and books were handed over to them at this last SCC lunch along with a cash donation towards the children’s home.

St. Laurence Children’s Haven and kids were invited to enjoy a fun-filled day with treats, sweets, a jumping castle and a supervised swimming pool among other small fun activities. Before departing they, all got one present of their choosing, and the remaining toys and books collected during the year were dropped off at their premises.

As has now become customary, the year-end Sandton Chefs Circle lunch is not only extra special because the guests of honour are the children from St. Laurence Children’s Haven but they are also joined by the hotel and hospitality general managers of greater Johannesburg for this day of celebration, widening the network of friendship and comradery for a good cause.
