Cesco’s in Strijdom Park suffers small structural fire

Cesco’s has said “very little damage” was caused by a fire at its Strijdom Park venue on July 15. In fact, the Portuguese Restaurant and Pub reopened the same day.

Through a Facebook post, the restaurant thanked the community for their support and loyalty and asked users to share far and wide that they were still open. Users did point out, however, that the photo that accompanied this post was dated two years ago.

Johannesburg EMS spokesperson Nana Radebe-Kgiba said they responded to the structural fire just after 06:00.

“The Randburg Fire Station responded and fortunately no fatalies or casualties [occurred],” she said. “The cause of fire is unknown.”
