Help tidy up the suburb and get a free cup of coffee for your efforts.

Residents of Sonneglans are invited to a community clean-up for Mandela Day.

Organiser, Verna Meintjes said residents are encouraged to spend their 67 minutes of community service in honour of Nelson Mandela tidying up their suburb on July 15. This will be on the corner of President Fouché and Witdoring roads from 08:00 until 12:00.

“We will be supplying black bags and gloves free of charge,” she said. “We have also arranged for a coffee vendor to supply free hot drinks and biscuits for the first 50 full bags collected. Security company CSS will be there as a visible presence.”

She said the event was open to anyone who would like to join in.

“We care about our community and take pride in where and how we live.”
