U3A to talk about dementia at Northwold event

The speaker will be Judith Hough, a director at a company that runs many retirement villages in Joburg.

Retirement relocation and how to care for those with dementia will be the subject of the next Joburg North U3A talk.

The retirees association will have the talk at Randburg Gereformeerde Kerk on Third Road, Northwold on May 2. Speaking on the day will be Judith Hough, a director at the Flower Association, which runs many retirement villages in Joburg. Hough was in charge of care at the facilities for 25 years.

Joburg North U3A’s AGM will be held first at 9:30 before Hough speaks at 10:00. The group hosts monthly meetings as well as special group interest activities such as walking, art, line-dancing, photography and others. These are at various venues.

Their subscription fee is R80 per year, but visitors coming to talks are charged R20. “Come and join our happy band of Senior people and make new friends,” urged the group’s Margart Britz
