O-Yes Properties and residents donate to Randburg SPCA

Randburg SPCA relies on donations from the public, and is grateful for donations such as this – representative says.

An R800 cheque, a large container of cat food and a cat scratching post were handed over to the Randburg SPCA.

This thanks to a game held by O-Yes Properties at the non-profit animal welfare group’s most recent monthly market.

Communinity members could guess how many cat pellets were in a large container. The total was 12 472 but two residents tied with guesses of 12 500.

“They were put into a draw and the winner, Priscila Cillie, decided to donate the scratching post she won,” explained property practitioner at the real estate company, Charmaine van der Westhuizen.

“We have also given the R800 raised from the game and the pellets to the SPCA. We will definitely be back at the next market.”

Van der Westhuizen explained that animals are very close to her heart and in her personal capacity she fosters pets and volunteers at RC Ferals.

Randburg SPCA’s Aimee Baxter thanked the group for their donation and said they are always welcome at the market.

“We are very grateful for this. We always need money and animal food,” she said.
