The four suspects were traced closely before being nabbed and arrested on Oxford and Glenhove road.

Four suspects were nabbed for possession of a stolen vehicle.

Norwood Police Station spokesperson Warrant Officer Eric Masotsha confirmed that a vehicle was stolen during a robbery.

“On February 14 at about 22:00 a silver Mazda was stolen during a house robbery in the Randburg area. On February 15 at 00:06 the police received a tip-off of the same stolen vehicle driving along Oxford Road towards town.”

Masotsha added that as police were tracing a vehicle at the corner of Oxford Road and Glenhove Road, they spotted a vehicle and stopped the driver.

The spokesperson explained that the police instructed all the occupants to lie on the ground and a search was conducted on all four occupants and confirmation was done to verify the stolen vehicle.

He concluded that all four suspects were detained at the Norwood cells and the recovered vehicle was taken to Aeroton for safekeeping. All the suspects will be charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and will appear at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court in due course.
