Learners from remedial and assisted learning school in Randpark Ridge perform at Eisteddfod

Excellent performances by Orion College learners earn certificates at the prestigious event.

Learners of Orion College participated in the annual RACA Eisteddfod with a range of visual and performing arts.

Individual and group singing, dancing, poetry, public speaking and reading, were highly commended by the adjudicators, with a significant number of diamond and platinum certificates being issued.

“We are so proud of our learners for finding the courage to get up on stage and perform in front of strangers, and then the parents at our school showcase,” said Barbra Robinson, primary school principal at the college.

Zoe Africa performs in the Eisteddfod.

“For many of our learners, this is an achievement in itself.”

Tumelo Miya, Kgatopele Seitshiro, Makenzie Bullen and Olivia Alexandre perform.

Two groups were invited to perform at the RACA annual show and Grade 10 learner Holly Beswick was invited to audition for a lead role in a show at Turning Point Studio.

“We know there is more to school than just being in the classroom. Nurturing these talents is important,” said Louis Buitendag, high school principal.
