Linden police arrest six for four counts of serious crime

These crimes include possession of drugs and one attempted murder.

Linden police arrested six suspects during the first week of October. Linden Police Stations communication officer Sergeant Takalani Sibiya said the suspects were detained for four counts of serious crimes which include possession of drugs and one for attempted murder.

Arrest one:
Two suspects were arrested at Alice Street and Viscounts Avenue in Windsor West after an officer alleged, he noticed two males walking along the street. The officer introduced himself to the men, and asked if he could search them, permission was granted, and upon search, he noticed that one of them had a bottleneck containing tobacco. The officer asked the men if they had anything else and they replied, “No”. The officer continued to search and found a brown pill inside one of the men’s right ears. The suspect told police that the pill was mandrax. Both men were arrested for possession of drugs.

Arrest two:
One suspect was arrested in Windsor West which is known as a hotspot drug area. A female introduced herself to the officer, and the officer asked if he could search her, and she agreed. The officer found crystal meth, two silver socket mandrax, one capsule and two lolly glasses. The suspect was arrested for possession of drugs and detained at the Linden SAPS.

Arrest three:
An officer introduced himself to a man in a white Hyundai that was parked in Windsor West. The officer asked if he could search him and the car and found a small bottle with liquid suspected to be liquid G in his track pants. The suspect was arrested for possession of drugs and detained at Linden SAPS.

Arrest four:
Officers received a complaint call while in the Windsor East area about mob justice on Republic Road and Lords Avenue. On arrival, they found lots of people standing around an adult male who was lying face down on the ground. Officers questioned bystanders about what happened, and a bystander alleged that the victim was a victim of attempted robbery and the community managed to catch the two suspects. The police tried to speak to the victim but he could not speak properly as he was badly injured and bleeding from the mouth and hands. However, the police did manage to hear the victim tell them that the suspects had tried to rob him but he refused and so they struck him with a golf club and stabbed him. The victim was rushed to Netcare Milpark Hospital for medical treatment. Two suspects were arrested and detained at Linden SAPS.
