Rainbow Line Dancers presents their Egoli – Place of Gold competition

Local and international line dancers took to the stage at this fun dance competition.

On September 17 the Rainbow Line Dancers under the banner of Egoli-Place of Gold held an ‘Out of Africa’ themed line dance competition at the Blairgowrie Recreation Centre.

Line dancers from Europe and South Africa were invited to participate in this well organised event. The competition was sanctioned in South Africa by the Gold Line Dance Association in the Netherlands.

Two international judges, Daniel Trepat from Netherlands and Clive Eaton-Stevens from the UK were among the judges for the competition on that weekend.

South African representative for the Gold Line Dance Association Leon Nel said this was the 1st Gold event in South Africa which would become an annual experience for the Line Dance community.

The dancers competed in various dance categories such as the Starter Peral, the Classic Ruby Newcomer, the Open Ruby Newcomer, the Classic Emerald Newcomer, the Classic Platinum Newcomer, and more.
