Trinityhouse Randpark Ridge learners donate 700 sanitary pads packs

Local school learner’s stand against period poverty by donating towards the #18GirlChild initiative.

In honour of Women’s Month, the high school learners of Trinityhouse Randpark Ridge collected and donated 700 packs of sanitary pads to the #18GirlChild project.

The non-profit organisation (NPO), #18GirlChild is targeted at restoring dignity within the girl child with integrity.

Kathy Chetty was the teacher responsible for putting together this admirable initiative.

“Women’s Month provided the perfect opportunity for Trinityhouse Randparkridge RCS Diversity to encourage students to bring sanitary pads to address the menstrual health issues of underprivileged students,” shared Chetty.

She added that they managed to collect the 700 sanitary pad packs over three days as well as donate them to #18GirlChild.

As #18GirlChild was an NPO that focused on lessening the burden on school-going girls and providing them with sanitary pads, Chetty said that as a team Trinityhouse Randpark Ridge high school learners were committed to addressing the undeniable sanitation crisis in South Africa and hoped to combat other similar issues in order to impact other learners positively.
