Remo Marcer and Lisandro Davis will spend thee months at Michelin Star restaurant, Restaurant Jan.

The Swiss Hotel School is proud of two of its students who have been chosen for three months’ experience at the Michelin Star restaurant, Restaurant Jan in France.

Remo Marcer and Lisandro Davis started their internship with famous chef Jan van der Westhuizen in May and are excited to have such a life-changing opportunity.

They will learn from one of the world’s best chefs in Nice and have the opportunity to experience France and different food cultures.

Van der Westhuizen began his culinary career as a contributing food editor and photographer for the lifestyle magazine Elle in South Africa and later, from 2006, worked in Paris.

He was then hired as a chef on a private yacht in Monaco. His restaurant, Jan in Nice, France, opened its doors in 2013 and was awarded a Michelin star in 2016.

In addition, it was also named one of the best restaurants in the world by Condé Nast Traveler in 2015.

The Swiss Hotel School has gradually been adding facilities with a small gym, a wine library, revamped classrooms and other student facilities.

“We have many plans for further improvements,” said the institution’s director, Stephen Hickmore.

“This includes the launch of our 33-On-Bond restaurant in July. We will open two nights a week until September when we will open for a six-week season, expect fine dining and a relaxed unhurried experience. We can only accommodate 30 people per evening, so I advise enquiries and bookings asap.”
