Book sale fundraiser aims to raise funds for Olivedale Library

Money raised from the sale will go toward new books for the library as well as other nearby libraries, charities and schools.

Friends of Olivedale Library (Fools) are excited to host their first book sale fundraiser since the library was closed.

The volunteer group had not held a book sale since March, before the municipality erroneously closed the library for three months due to a billing mistake.

Funds from the book sale will go toward purchasing new books for the library, neighbouring libraries, schools and charities.

“The books will be all second-hand, all priced at R10 each,” said the group’s secretary, Eleanor Woodman.

“There will be mostly fiction but some non-fiction on various subjects.”

The book sale will be from 10:00 to 16:00 on July 1.
